Along the most beautiful coastal road in Vietnam

The windy and sunny area of Ninh Thuan lures visitors with its long charming beaches from Ca Na to Ninh Chu, Vinh Hy and Binh Tien. The 80km coastline running from Ca Na beach to Binh Lap peninsula in Ninh Thuan with its wild and beautiful landscapes is regarded as one of the most beautiful coastal roads in Vietnam.

Phan Rang – Vinh Hy section: Driving through the mini desert

From south to north, this coastal road starts from Ca Na beach in Thuan Nam district, through Phan Rang on highway 1A, then through Vinh Hy bay in Ninh Hai district on Road DT702, to Binh Lap peninsula which borders Khanh Hoa province.

The 3km road runs from Ca Na where the coast curves like a crescent hugging the national highway. This is a special place in Vietnam where both the road and railway weave along the coast. One side is the blue sea and the other is wild mountains.

On the way from Phan Rang – Thap Cham through Vinh Hy bay to Binh Lap, there are lovely vineyards.

Then comes the windswept road running through the mini desert in Mui Dinh, Thuan Nam district where fishing villages lie peacefully behind white sand. Here and there, sheep chew grass by the roadside or at the foot of rocky mountains.

Ninh Thuan in the southern central coast has wild beautiful beaches. The best time to go is during spring from April to June. It is also nice to visit Ninh Thuan between August and October, the season of grapes and unique festivals of the local Cham.

In the section passing Son Hai village in Phuoc Dinh commune, one can easily see shrimp ponds on the sand. Tthe 700-hectare Nam Cuong white sand dune is also must-see on the journey exploring Ninh Thuan.

On the way from Phan Rang – Thap Cham through Vinh Hy bay to Binh Lap, one can stop at Thai An village in Vinh Hai commune, Ninh Hai district, which boasts lovely vineyards where visitors can enjoy juicy fresh grapes or grape juice.

Vinh Hy: Ha Long bay of central Vietnam

The road from Phan Rang to Vinh Hy is the wildest and most beautiful section, shaped like an arrow surrounding Nui Chua national park which has both the sea and forest. Rai Cave with a giant coral reef is truly a wonder of nature here.

Vinh Hy is one of the four most beautiful bays in Vietnam, which is located in Nui Chua national park northwest of Ninh Thuan, 40 km from Phan Rang.

With the clear blue sea and weaving coastal roads, Vinh Hy, one of Vietnam’s most beautiful bays, is called the Ha Long bay of central Vietnam.

The price for the tour is 150,000 dong per person. A group of visitors can hire a boat for this tour for between one and two million dong per trip.

On the other side of Vinh Hy pass, one can enjoy the spectacular view of Binh Hung island in the middle of the blue sea.

The end of this coastal road in Ninh Thuan province is an immense savanna in Binh Tien which borders Khanh Hoa province. This is a favorite destination of adventurous travelers where herds of sheep wander on the sides of sandy dry mountains. Visitors will feel like nomads getting lost in a vast savanna with white sand hills.
