THE HANOI TIMES —  A stamp set released by the Vietnam Post Corporation celebrates the rich history and ongoing evolution of Vietnam’s revolutionary journalism, deeply intertwined with the nation’s fight for independence and its journey towards modernization.

The stamp and its first-day cover commemorate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam’s Revolution Press Day.

This commemorative stamp set features a unique design by artist Nguyen Du, with a face value of VND4,000 (15 US cents) and dimensions of 43 x 32mm. Its visually captivating, contemporary graphic style bridges the gap between tradition and progress.

At its core, the stamp displays the national flag of Vietnam, proudly flying next to the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, revered as the founding father and mentor of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism. This central imagery honors the legacy established in 1925 when President Ho Chi Minh founded Thanh Nien (Youth), Vietnam’s inaugural revolutionary newspaper.

The design is rich in symbolism: a pen-shaped flagpole represents the power of the written word in the national liberation struggle, while digital binary code elements signify the dynamism and innovation of the contemporary press landscape, showcasing the media’s transformation in the digital era. Surrounding visuals feature iconic publications from revolutionary eras, including Thanh Nien, Nhan Dan (The People), and Tap Chi Cong San (Communist Magazine), illustrating the press’s continuous development in serving the nation.

This newly issued stamp set is a heartfelt tribute to generations of journalists committed to truth, public service, and national progress. As a cultural artifact, it honors the past while inspiring the present, encouraging the press to uphold integrity, creativity, and humanity in a constantly evolving world.

The commemorative stamp set is available through Vietnam’s public postal network from June 19 to December 31, 2026.
