Experience the Enchanting Milky Way at the Summit of Cu Nhu San Mountain

During the spring season, countless travelers are drawn to Vietnam's Cu Nhu San Mountain Peak, captivated by the breathtaking sea of clouds and the enchanting Milky Way.

The Milky Way is a luminous strip of white light that stretches across the night sky. It spans from the constellation Cassiopeia in the north to the constellation Crux in the south. The brightest point of the Milky Way can be seen in the constellation Sagittarius, which is considered the center of our galaxy.

Typically, the Milky Way is visible year-round. However, in Vietnam, the best time to witness and photograph it is from March to October. Clear skies, devoid of moonlight, clouds, and rain, provide optimal conditions. The Milky Way will be visible between 1 am and 3 am, rising in the southeast.

The period after the Lunar New Year, typically in March, is the most convenient for trekking in the Northwest mountains and forests. The weather during this time is pleasant, with blooming flowers and comfortable temperatures.

Previously, Cu Nhu San Peak remained relatively unknown due to its challenging ascent. However, more and more tourists are now trekking here to embrace the thrill of the forest and mountainous terrain.

At the pinnacle, the sky is crystal-clear and adorned with stars, allowing tourists to admire the awe-inspiring beauty of the Milky Way.

There are local tour guides available in Y Ty to assist travelers, ensuring their safety. For trekkers without experience, hiring a porter is recommended. Porters can help carry luggage, provide drinking water, and prepare food. Their assistance saves time and minimizes the risk of getting lost.

The total climbing time is estimated to be around 17 hours, including breaks and meals. However, the duration may vary depending on individual physical fitness levels.

Cu Nhu San attracts numerous young travelers and photographers, enticed not only by its enchanting natural scenery but also by the captivating Milky Way. This extraordinary celestial phenomenon can be observed year-round, visible to the naked eye without any modern equipment.

The period between 2 am and 4 am is when the stars shine most brilliantly.

At the summit, the sky reveals a tapestry of stars, allowing tourists to marvel at the breathtaking expanse of the Milky Way. The bewitching sight of radiant galaxies in the Northwest sky is considered by many as an experience of a lifetime. Those fortunate enough to witness this wondrous scene describe it as the most astonishing and stupefying sight they have ever encountered.

To fully enjoy this journey, tourists should prepare food, water, warm clothing, tents, and other necessary equipment, as Cu Nhu San does not offer tourist services. It is advisable to avoid trekking on nights with a full moon, as the moon’s brightness may obstruct the visibility of stars and the Milky Way. The optimal time to observe the vibrant stars is between 2 am and 4 am.

Conquering the renowned Cu Nhu San Peak is both a challenge and a chance for visitors to connect with nature and embark on a unique spring voyage.

Walking through meadows, traversing hill slopes, reaching the mountaintop, and gazing at the starry sky evoke indescribable feelings, making it an unforgettable experience for travelers.
