Na Hang Lake is situated in the heart of Na Hang District, located more than 100 kilometers north of Tuyen Quang City. Covering over 8,000 hectares of water surface, this lake is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, making it a captivating tourist destination for both local and international visitors.

Na Hang Lake is the confluence of the Gam and Nang rivers, with the meeting point of these two rivers being Pac Ta mountain. This mountain, the highest peak in the district, is home to Pac Ta temple which pays homage to a concubine of General Tran Nhat Duat from the 13th century.

In the Tay ethnic language, “Na Hang” translates to “last field,” reflecting the presence of green rice fields scattered amidst limestone mountains. Khuoi Nhi waterfall is one of the most stunning waterfalls in the area, resembling white silk streaming down the cliffs when viewed from afar.

Legend has it that Khuoi Nhi waterfall originated from a story of a young couple deeply in love but unable to unite. When they were separated, the lady searched for the young man but couldn’t find him. Filled with despair, she transformed into a waterfall.

When seen from above, the waterfall resembles a young woman’s hair flowing onto the surface of a calm lake. It is one of the most captivating destinations at the Na Hang-Lam Binh tourist complex for travelers to discover on their journeys.

The area around Na Hang Lake is inhabited by various highland ethnic groups such as Mong, Tay, and Dao, each carrying their unique customs and cultural identity.

Travelers can indulge in the delightful and renowned cuisine of Tuyen Quang, featuring dishes like sticky rice cakes filled with ant eggs, black pork, Soi Lam glutinous corn, goby salad, and fish sauce.

One of the most delectable traditional foods in Tuyen Quang is Suoi Khoang Chinese sausage. This dish primarily utilizes black pork as the main ingredient. After processing into sausages, they are dried under the sun and hung in the attic of the kitchen. This distinctive sausage-making technique ensures preservation throughout the year while adding a unique flavor to the dishes.
