Two testing methods, Realtime RT-PCR and rapid test, are being used.

The city will focus all priority resources on the principle of accuracy, safety and efficiency in high-risk and blockaded areas to narrow the “red zones” towards promptly controlling and preventing the epidemic during the social distancing period, gradually bringing life back to normal.

Functional forces have taken 2,000 samples in Dong Xuan Ward (Hoan Kiem District), where the outbreak in Thanh Ha Market took place, on the morning of August 11.

The most at-risk member of a family is sampled during the campaign.

The deputy chief of Dong Xuan Ward’s Police Nguyen Si Ha said that the testing work has been carried out in an urgent manner. The functional forces have regularly reminded and instructed people to strictly observe 5K principles and maintain safe distance.

People line up at the sampling point on Hang Quat Street in the ward of the same name in Hoan Kiem District.

Previously, the ward’s authorities had divided residential areas into groups for testing. All people were required to be on time.

In Thanh Xuan District, the wards of Thanh Xuan Bac, Nhan Chinh and Ha Dinh are expected to provide 11,000 samples.

People arrived at Trang An Kindergarten in Thanh Xuan District very early.

With the requirement of taking samples early to soon take the city into a new normal state, the Hanoi Municipal Department of Health has mobilised nearly 1,000 students from Hanoi Medical College to join the campaign, of which 300 supported the anti-epidemic fight in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang.

As of 19 pm on August 10, 71,385 samples were taken, including 4,638 showing negative results and one positive sample.
