To boost inbound tourism, tourist agencies have been introducing a host of new tourism packages and cutting prices, while improving service quality and shoring up pandemic prevention and control efforts.

Hai Phong welcomed over 9.2 million tourists last year, earning more than 3,500 trillion VND. The impact of COVID-19, however, has seen the figure for the first eight months of this year fall by 40 percent.

Vietnamese account for 85 percent of all visitors to Hai Phong. Local authorities are to organise a series of promotional campaigns by the end of this year and bolster links with Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Dien Bien, and HCM City in designing tours./.
