First day of face masks being compulsory comes into force in Hanoi
Following the passing of recent legislation, all Vietnamese citizens and foreigners are now required to wear face masks when in public as of March 16, with the majority of people around the capital following the new rules.
With the new regulations being introduced as of March 16, it has become compulsory for both residents and tourists to don face masks in public. Despite this, a number of people continue to choose not to wear protective masks.
These measures have been imposed in a bid to control the further spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the wider community, although many foreigners around the capital are not aware of the new requirements.
