Trending products in high demand on God of Wealth Day
Along with gold, various trending products have been put on sale to take advantage of increasing demand on the God of Wealth Day, which falls on the 10th day of the Lunar New Year, or January 31 this year.
Cakes in the shape of money jars are the most sought-after items that are typically used as gifts for companies, families and friends.
The price of each jar-shaped cake hovers around VND500,000 to VND800,000.
Each cake is accompanied by chocolate coins, as well as God of Wealth and lucky cat figurines.
Huyen Linh, manager of Panacota bakery, says her business has received an influx of orders for the God of Wealth Day as people tend to buy products related to gold, praying for good fortune and good luck in the new year.
Around 200 jar-shaped cakes have been ordered each day this year.
Cat-shaped ceramic products also prove popular.
This ceramic product costs between VND200,000 and VND1.4 million depending on the size and model. At the peak time nearly 500 cat-shaped products are sold per month.
On social media, gold bar cakes and cakes in shapes of bags of money with eye-catching and unique designs draw plenty of attention, costing between VND100,000 and VND200,000 per box.
Gold bar-shaped cakes are favourite products with consumers on this occasion as they symbolise both wealth and luck.
