Promotion of Vietnamese Food and Culture at Brazilian Bazaar
On June 3rd, Vietnam was amongst the 40 plus countries to showcase their traditional handicrafts and cuisine at the Brasilia Art Museum (MAB) in Brazil, at the annual International Food and Culture Bazaar.
The bazaar aims to raise funds for four charitable organisations that support the homeless and impoverished women in Brasilia. This year it has received around 3,000 visitors, including many from other South American countries.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil sets up two booths displaying the country’s typical cuisine and traditional handicraft products.
The event gives Vietnam the chance to promote traditional culture and tourism products to international friends.
Local diners have opportunities to taste Vietnamese dishes such as fried spring rolls, banana cakes, coffee and iced tea.
At the Vietnamese booth, visitors prefer to choose unique handicraft products created by Vietnamese craftsmen such as embroidered Non La (palm-leaf conical hat), and silk scarves.
Lacquered and mother of pearl inlay coconut bowls are also showcased, drawing much attention of foreign visitors.
On September 29, Bui Quynh Hoa from Hanoi was crowned the winner of Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 at the coronation night held in Ho Chi Minh City. The model beat out 17 other contestants to clinch the title.
