According to Bui Quoc Thai, director of the Kien Giang tourism department, Uzbekistan Airways charter flights will continue to bring tourists to and from the island until late March next year, equivalent to around 18 round-trip flights between Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent and Phu Quoc.
Each group of tourists is expected to stay on the Vietnamese island seven to nine nights.Â
The Kien Giang tourism department also revealed that Phu Quoc is receiving many tourist groups from Thailand, South Korea, the U.S., India, and more.Â
The southern province is estimated to have welcomed 6,594,343 people in the first ten months of 2022, with 156,585 being international tourists, and revenue from tourism is expected to reach VND8,628 billion (US$347 million).
Phu Quoc has received more than four million of those tourists, with 154,778 from other countries.
