The 1-1 draw saw Vietnam secure second place in Group B with 10 points.

Thailand also had 10 points, but topped the group due to having a superior goal difference.

The second-place finish set Vietnam up for a semifinal game on Saturday against Indonesia, who topped Group A.

Thailand will face Group A runners-up Myanmar on the same date. Both teams will be vying to secure their place in the next round of the tournament.

The 2023 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games will be held in the Kingdom of Cambodia, with the cities of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, and Kep playing host to the event. The Games will kick off on May 8 and last until May 17, with athletes from 11 countries in the region competing in over 40 different sports.

With the iconic cities of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, and Kep playing host to the event, the 2023 SEA Games is sure to be an unforgettable experience.

Vietnam sent a delegation of 1,003 members—the biggest in the country’s sporting history—to the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games edition, marking a milestone achievement.
