The 70th edition of Miss World had previously been scheduled to take place in October or November 2021, according to Julia Morley, president of the Miss World Organization.

Morley also noted that several of the contest’s segments such as the head to head challenge will feature the participation of last year’s contestants, with the competition likely to showcase each of the beauties’ views on the current global situation.

Pham Kim Dung, head of the organising board for Miss World Vietnam, said Luong Thuy Linh, a top 12 finisher at Miss World 2019, will represent the country during the occasion once it is rearranged. Linh is expected to present the world with a message about the fight against COVID-19 in Vietnam.

Last year saw Linh surprisingly beat off competition from 100 rival contestants in order to top Miss World’s online voting following a strong performance during the head to head challenge segment.

The organising board of Miss World also hopes that all participating countries will move to update the charity activities of each of the contestants to promote the spirit of the “Beauty with a Purpose” segment.
