An exciting music night featuring local bands Mac and The Odd Stones will be taking place on June 21 at Polygon Music – Complex 01 in Hanoi.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France, an event is taking place to celebrate this significant milestone.

Born and raised in France, Dorothée is a multi-talented individual with a French father and a Vietnamese mother. She is known for her exceptional skills as an actress, costume designer, and film producer.

The renowned singer has graced the stages of renowned music venues around the globe, playing shows in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Korea, the European Union, and most recently Taiwan (China).

In 2023, Dorothée became one of the lucky recipients of the Villa Saigon residency program offered by the French Institute in Vietnam.

At the age of fifteen, she stumbled upon music when she found an acoustic guitar in her uncle’s attic. This chance encounter with the instrument was like a key that unlocked a world of incredible journeys, both real and imaginary.

Dorotheé’s musical style is a unique blend of pop and rock, drawing inspiration from the Europop of the 1960s and 1970s.

The lyrics in Dorotheé’s songs are said to be unique and meaningful, telling touching stories from real life. She said scientific articles or newspaper news are great sources for her creations. One of them is the song titled Que Ma Mémoire Vive or “Let my memories live forever“, which is based on the story of a Canadian researcher who invented a therapy that can erase part of a person’s memory.

She expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming tour, expressing her desire to become immersed in the local culture and to draw upon it for musical inspiration.

“Asia has a special place in my heart, probably because of my Vietnamese heritage,” she said.

During concerts in the country, The Rodeo will be introducing her new album, “Arlequine”.

The Rodeo will be touring Vietnam with stops at four different cities. On June 16, they will be performing at the Institute for Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF) in Ho Chi Minh City. On June 18, they will move to the Hoa Binh Theater in Da Lat, followed by a performance at the Trung Vuong Theater in Danang on June 22. The tour will end at the Hue Academy of Music in Hue on June 23.
