Rotary International is a global force for good, with an extensive network of 1.4 million members who are dedicated to creating positive, lasting change across the world. This organization, one of the largest service organizations on the planet, is committed to bringing people together and taking action to improve lives and communities.

A powerful example of Rotary’s impact can be seen in Vietnam, where Rotary International and Kids Without Borders joined forces to support orphans in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City. Among these orphans are children facing mental and physical challenges, and the visit aimed to provide spiritual and physical strength.

Ezra Teshome, an American member of Rotary, shared his experience: “We visited a large orphanage in Go Vap with 190 children, each with their own unique needs. It was a surprise and a joy to see these children, despite their challenges, so optimistic and happy. We interacted with many of them, serving meals and gifts at a birthday celebration.”

Teshome, who has traveled extensively for charity work, including collaborating with Bill Gates and The Gates Foundation to end polio, found his trip to Vietnam particularly moving. He was deeply touched by the children’s resilience and joy, especially those with cerebral palsy.

Rotary International has an established presence in Vietnam, with clubs in Saigon, Saigon International, Da Nang, and Hanoi. The organization has supported various projects in the country, such as providing clean water to rural villages and healthcare for sick children. They have also aided children affected by Agent Orange, built schools, donated wheelchairs, offered scholarships, and fought against human trafficking.

Son Michael Pham, a member of Rotary International, led a group of members from the US and Germany to Vietnam. They met with local Rotary clubs and discussed past and future charity work, with a focus on healthcare and education for rural communities. The group provided aid to an orphanage and a care center for children with HIV in Hai Phong, witnessing first-hand the impact of their support.

The dedication of Rotary members is evident, and their work in Vietnam is an inspiring example of their global impact. Their efforts to improve the lives of others and create a brighter future know no borders.

A Global Network of Change-Makers

Rotary’s reach extends far and wide, with clubs and members all over the world. Their annual international convention, expected to be attended by 35,000 members this year in Singapore, is a testament to their global impact.
