HANOI, Vietnam — The Hanoi People’s Committee has given the green light to the development of Phase 2 of the Canh Nau Handicraft Industrial Cluster, an ambitious project that will revolutionize traditional handicraft production in Thach That District. This new phase, as outlined in Decision No. 2134/QD-UBND, will cover 17.22 hectares and is set to become a model of sustainable and technologically advanced industrial development.
With Long Bien Group JSC at the helm, the cluster will prioritize environmental sustainability and innovation. High-tech wastewater treatment, separate stormwater and sewage systems, efficient solid waste management, and integrated infrastructure are all part of the vision for this industrial hub. Traditional occupations like wood processing and high-end handicrafts will find a modern home here, alongside other compliant industries.
Only enterprises that adhere to clean production standards and embrace modern technologies will be welcomed, ensuring a pollution-free environment. The 24-month construction period will give way to a 50-year operational lifespan, with investors benefiting from the Investment Law and Decree No. 32/2024/ND-CP on Industrial Cluster Management.
The cluster is designed with a strict focus on industrial activities, excluding residential, lodging, and commercial purposes. Developers must navigate legal requirements with precision, addressing planning, environmental impact, fire safety, and land use before breaking ground.
The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade will take the lead in state management for this project, with the Thach That District People’s Committee and relevant agencies offering crucial legal and compliance support.
Hanoi’s commitment to this project reflects a larger strategy to preserve its rich craft village heritage. By creating cleaner, smarter manufacturing zones, the city is fostering an economic and environmental symbiosis that will leave a lasting legacy.
