In 2024, Nvidia, a global leader in AI and semiconductor technology, also partnered with Vietnam to establish an AI R&D center in the country.
Qualcomm’s new AI R&D Center in Vietnam is expected to solidify the country’s position as a prominent hub for AI research and innovation, not only in the region but also on a global scale.
The center will be operated by a talented team of scientists, researchers, and AI specialists based in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, working in conjunction with Qualcomm’s global AI research group.
It will primarily focus on generative AI and agentic AI solutions, with a wide range of applications across domains such as smartphones, personal computers, extended reality, automotive technology, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Beyond technological innovation, the center will also emphasize human resource development and academic collaborations within the region. Additionally, it will play a pivotal role in contributing to Qualcomm’s global product roadmap and the advancement of Vietnam’s AI industry.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh remarked that the establishment of Qualcomm’s AI R&D Center signifies a significant step forward in the technological collaboration between Vietnam and the United States.
Qualcomm’s choice of Vietnam as the location for its AI R&D Center underscores the company’s trust in the country’s IT workforce and highlights the robust strategic partnership between the two nations.
