With the theme “Gathering in Spring”, the flower festival showcases the essence of Vietnamese culture during the traditional Lunar New Year, which starts in February this year.
It symbolizes the desire for togetherness and reunion as the New Year arrives.
In Vietnamese tradition, the Lunar New Year is a special time for families to gather and share warmth. Around the tray of five fruits, green sticky rice cakes, and red parallel sentences, families come together to reminisce about the past and share joy and hopes for a prosperous and peaceful new year.
The flower arrangements at the festival portray the image of mythical creatures and legends.
Sacred symbols of Vietnamese culture, which have been passed down for thousands of years, are also celebrated at this year’s Spring Flower Festival.
In addition to the flower street exhibition, which follows the theme of “Gathering in Spring”, the festival will also feature a flower market, open from February 2-9.
The market will have around 145 stalls selling flowers and ornamental plants from gardens in HCM City and neighboring provinces such as Ben Tre and Dong Thap.
This market caters to the residents of Phu My Hung urban area and the surrounding neighborhoods in the south of the city.
To capture the beautiful moments and images of visitors to the festival throughout the years, the organizing committee has launched the “Moments of Phu My Hung Spring Flower Festival” photo contest.
The contest will take place on the Phu My Hung Today’s fanpage from February 3 to February 16.
Participants are encouraged to showcase their experiences at various festivals and share photos capturing the highlights of the year on their public profiles, using the hashtag #khoanhkhachoihoaxuanPMH. They can then submit the link to their entries by commenting on the contest post on the fanpage.
The organizing committee will select beautiful and suitable photos based on the criteria of the contest to award prizes.
The total prize value for the “Moments of Phu My Hung Spring Flower Festival” photo contest is up to VND25 million (US$1,000).
