This year’s International Yoga Day will be celebrated in more than 35 provinces and cities across the nation, including iconic places like Fansipan peak in Lao Cai Province and Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi, as well as other locations.

At the event, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Sandeep Arya highlighted that the Indian Embassy in Hanoi and the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City will collaborate with various localities in the second half of June to celebrate the ninth International Yoga Day and spread knowledge of the health benefits of yoga.

The Indian Ambassador revealed that yoga is a 5,000-year-old tradition of India that serves to combine physical, mental, and spiritual activities in order to achieve harmony among the body, mind, and nature.

The United Nations General Assembly has declared June 21 to be International Day of Yoga, in recognition of the health benefits of Yoga for people all over the world. Vietnam is an important partner of India in promoting and celebrating International Yoga Day.

The opening event for the ninth International Day of Yoga will be held on June 11 at Thong Nhat Park in Hanoi, while the event will be officially celebrated on June 18 in the area around Hoan Kiem Lake.

In Lao Cai, an exhibition featuring documents and photographs depicting the history of yoga’s formation and development in India, the world, and Vietnam will be held from June 16 to June 18.

On the evening of June 18th, an amazing yoga performance will take place atop Fansipan Mountain.
