The event was attended by Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen.

As each New Year arrives, Spring comes, and every citizen is excited recalling one of the great historical events of the Vietnamese revolution, which marked a brilliant milestone on the development path of our nation. That event is the torch that lights the way for Vietnam to escape slavery. 92 years ago, on February 3, 1930, the Communist Party of Vietnam was born.

At Saigon Port, 111 years ago, the patriotic young man Nguyen Tat Thanh, using the name “Van Ba”, set off on a journey abroad to France on the ship Admiral Latouche Treville, beginning his journey for national salvation.

President Ho Chi Minh, the Founder, Leader and Trainer of our Party, has lit up springs of faith for the Vietnamese people. Looking back on the 92 years of construction and growth, the Communist Party of Vietnam has led our people to wage a heroic revolutionary struggle, opening brilliant golden pages in the nation’s history.

Ho Chi Minh City, where Uncle Ho sent all his faith, love and hope throughout the century, has today risen with the brilliant aspiration of the nation’s golden name.
