Over the past 60 years, Giang Cao villagers have been developing and preserving their pottery and ceramics tradition and its world-famous brand.
Giang Cao Pottery Village was initially called Dong Sang. It was renamed Dong Ca and then Giang Cao. While its neighbor – Bat Trang Village – has a 700-year-old pottery making history, Giang Cao has only 60 years of pottery production experience. Nonetheless, Giang Cao products have carved a niche on the market thanks to their high quality and attractive design.

Giang Cao ceramics and pottery are exported to countries and territories worldwide, including Japan, the Republic of Korea (RoK), China, Thailand, the US, Australia and the EU.
The Hanoi People’s Committee recognized Giang Cao as a traditional craft village in early 2010.
Giang Cao was selected as the main source of ceramic materials for the Ceramic Road project along the Red River. The village’s pottery is of high quality, fired at temperatures above 1,200 degrees Celsius, and includes sufficient shades to express all the creative ideas for the ceramic road.
