Cyrus Nguyen is an exceptional culinary artist, infusing his dishes with creativity and a deep passion for food. His culinary journey began in the kitchens of a Japanese restaurant during his university days, where he discovered the joy of cooking despite the demanding nature of kitchen work.
A Culinary Odyssey: From Finance to Flavor
Cyrus Nguyen, born in 1984 in Ho Chi Minh City, with roots in Hue City, central Vietnam, initially pursued a degree in finance in the United States. However, his heart wasn’t in the corporate world, and he soon found his way back to the kitchen, driven by fond memories of his university job.
He traded in his briefcase for a chef’s hat and enrolled at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, where he earned a Grand Diplôme. This marked the beginning of his transformation into a master chef.
His talent and dedication led him to work alongside the best in the industry, including a stint as a junior chef at the Michelin-starred Per Se in New York.
Cyrus’s culinary curiosity then took him to Beverly Hills, California, where he delved into the hotel industry, expanding his understanding of global cuisine and refining his culinary skills.
In 2014, Cyrus returned to Vietnam, and his passion for food ignited a new venture—a chocolate brand in Ho Chi Minh City, earning him the title of chocolatier. His sweet success led him to explore savory delights, and thus, Ember Noodle Bar was born.
