Uniting the People of Hanoi
The “Cultural Festival for Peace” takes center stage as Hanoi celebrates two momentous occasions: the 70th anniversary of its liberation and the 25th year of its recognition as a “City for Peace” by UNESCO. This festival, directed by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, is scheduled for October 6 and will be a large-scale celebration in the Ly Thai To Flower Garden and Hoan Kiem Lake Pedestrian Zone in Hoan Kiem District. An estimated 10,000 participants, including 9,400 citizens as performers and spectators, are expected to take part in this cultural extravaganza.
The Hanoi Municipal Government has meticulously prepared for this festival, finalizing the program and decorations, while its agencies and local communities are geared up to proactively contribute to its success.

Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, emphasized that the festival should create a joyful and proud atmosphere, promoting solidarity among the capital’s residents. He also highlighted the opportunity to showcase Hanoi’s culture, history, and tourism to both domestic and international visitors. To ensure the festival’s reach, all media channels must be utilized for communication before and during the event, allowing people across the city and the nation to engage with this momentous occasion.
Planning for a Seamless Execution
Mayor Tran Sy Thanh concluded the meeting by underscoring the importance of media coordination in promoting the festival and ensuring its accessibility to citizens, international tourists, and people nationwide. A communication plan for the festival program is, therefore, imperative. Additionally, for the dress rehearsal and official performances, the city and Hoan Kiem District police are tasked with carefully considering scenarios, making comprehensive plans, and increasing forces to manage traffic control, security, and essential services like medical and environmental sanitation.

Furthermore, a special art program, “Hanoi – City of Peace – City of Flying Dragon,” will be the grand finale of the celebrations, taking place at My Dinh National Stadium on October 10. This large-scale event is expected to attract 25,000 attendees, including a diverse range of 24,000 Hanoi residents. It will feature a drone light show, aerial and ground fireworks, and a pyrotechnics display, promising an unforgettable evening.
