Hanoi to Host Monsoon Music Festival Featuring ‘Hang Nhac Street’

The Monsoon Music Festival 2023 is scheduled to take place from October 14th to 22nd at the prestigious Thang Long Imperial Citadel, as well as various other venues within the captivating Hoan Kiem District of Hanoi.

Musician Quoc Trung, who is heading the organizing committee and serving as the general director of the program, has announced that the theme for the Monsoon Music Festival 2023 will be “Hang Nhac Street” (Street of Music). This concept draws inspiration from the historic Hang streets in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, which were known for their diverse trades. Each Hang represents a different trade, contributing to the cultural richness of the area.

“We are dedicated to bringing music to every corner of Hanoi’s streets, providing a truly fulfilling experience for our community to enjoy the arts,” stated Trung.

The Monsoon Music Festival 2023 is set to take place across multiple venues in Hanoi, creating a joyous ambience that will resonate throughout the city. This eagerly anticipated event will give both locals and tourists the opportunity to immerse themselves in the lively spirit of Hanoi, renowned for its iconic 36 streets.

The inaugural event will take place on October 14th at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square.

The Hang Nhac Street Music Week is scheduled to be held from October 15th to 20th in various prominent locations within Hanoi’s historic Old Quarter. These locations include the esteemed Cultural and Arts Center situated at 22 Hang Buom, as well as the prestigious Old Hanoi Street Cultural Exchange Center located at 50 Dao Duy Tu. Additionally, the highly regarded Golden Bell Theater and the grand Nguy Nhu Kon Tum Auditorium are set to be part of the event.

The Thang Long Citadel Night event is set to take place on October 21-22 at the prestigious Thang Long Imperial Citadel. Guests can anticipate a delightful evening filled with captivating musical performances and engaging art exhibitions.

Famous rock band Buc Tuong will perform at the festival.

The festival will showcase a diverse lineup of 40 talented Vietnamese and international artists and bands. Among them are renowned acts such as Buc Tuong, Ngot, Vu, Lope Dope, Meow Lac, Phao, and Suboi from Vietnam. The festival will also feature exceptional performers from around the world, including Xinh Xo and Forgotten Future from the USA, Sun Jun and Fergessen from France, Dust&Metal from the UK and US, Lydmor from Denmark, Andreas Tilliander from Sweden, Munan from Korea, Club Mild from Singapore, and Rome in Reverse from Italy. Get ready to be captivated by their exceptional musical talents.

The Monsoon Music Festival will be featuring not only exceptional performances but also three insightful seminars on various aspects of the music and cultural industry. These seminars include discussions on Policies for Cultural Projects in Hanoi, Safety and Health in the Performance Production Industry, and What Direction for Young Artists and Bands in Finding Their Own Market? Attendees can expect to gain valuable insights and knowledge from these engaging seminars.

The Inspire Your Next Fund offers selected artists the chance to engage in short-term training programs and professional development workshops. Our organizing committee will assist in establishing connections with record labels, media regulators, and production organizations.
