Vietnam’s Binh Phuoc sees the Launch of a Huge Square

On Thursday, a massive square capable of accommodating more than 10,000 individuals was officially opened in Dong Xoai City, located in the southern province of Binh Phuoc, Vietnam.

The square is designed with an open space and stunning lighting systems, with the aim of making the city unique and distinct. It was officially inaugurated on Phu Xuan Street, Tan Phu Ward, marking the fifth anniversary of the establishment of Dong Xoai. The construction of the square, which cost VND50 billion (US$2.06 million) from the city’s budget, spans an area of 21.9 hectares.

The square consists of a spacious yard, a 6,000-square-meter area for events and festivals, a performance stage, a sports zone, a flower garden, and a recreational and entertainment section. Among the key features of the square are a water music stage and 10 LED screens.

The opening ceremony on Thursday night featured an array of captivating performances, including modern dances, Then singing (a traditional art form combining literature, music, and dancing), and hat cheo (traditional opera popular in northern Vietnam). The event attracted enthusiastic participation from both local residents and visitors, who immersed themselves in the vibrant atmosphere and enjoyed the cultural and entertainment activities.

According to a representative from the Dong Xoai administration, the city has numerous parks, flower gardens, and public open spaces, but lacks large-scale amusement and entertainment areas. The opening of this square not only helps address this shortage, but also serves as a special gift for the city and its residents in celebration of its fifth anniversary.
