Tra Su melaleuca forest is located in Van Giao commune, Tinh Bien district (An Giang province), near Chau Doc and the Vietnam-Cambodia border. Covering an area of 859 hectares, it is a typical ecosystem in the Western waters of the Hau River.

The best time to visit Tra Su melaleuca forest is from September to November, when the entire area is covered in water, creating breathtaking landscapes. During other times of the year, especially in the dry season, access to the forest is limited due to fire prevention regulations. Every year, the forest attracts numerous travelers who come to explore and admire the natural scenery.
The forest is characterized by its interconnected canals and crystal-clear water. Visitors can explore the majestic green nature by rowing a boat on the river.

The forest is home to a wide variety of plant and animal species. It boasts 140 species of plants, including 22 tree species, 78 medicinal plants, and 13 aquatic species. The forest is also inhabited by over 70 species of birds, including two rare bird species listed in the Red Book.

In early 2020, Tra Su forest introduced the longest walking bamboo bridge in Vietnam, offering visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in nature.
